Chief Investment Officer of Bley Investment Group, Inc., Laura Bley is a 30-year veteran of the securities industry. A chartered financial analyst, Laura is a member of the CFA Institute, the Dallas Society of Financial Analysts (DSFA), and the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP). She was a member of FINRA and the NYSE´s panel of arbitrators for over 20 years. Laura established Bley Investment Group, Inc. after serving as president of Capital Fund Managers, Inc., a registered investment advisor and money management firm in Fort Worth, Texas. Previously, Laura was associated with Dean Witter Reynolds, Beverly Hills, CA.
Laura studied economics at Marymount College, the University of London and received a bachelor´s degree in economics from Arizona State University. She received her Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1986.
Laura is a member of Texas Wall Street Women and Women Impacting Public Policy. She is an active community volunteer. Laura is the founder and has been the Chairperson of the Kathy Whitworth Invitational a Junior Girl´s Golf Championship raising money for the Boy & Girls Club for the last 13 years. She has served on the executive committee and the boards of the Fort Worth Opera and the YWCA. Laura is a former member of the College Opportunity Act Committee, a state board appointment.
To earn a CFA charter, you must have four years of qualified investment work experience, become a member of CFA Institute, pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct on an annual basis, apply for membership to a local CFA member society, and complete the CFA Program. The CFA Program is organized into three levels, each culminating in a six-hour exam. Completing the Program takes most candidates between two and five years.
